Fishing

The ‘Freiangelrecht’ (‘free fishing law’) applies to Lake Klöntal; this means that anyone can fish in the lake without needing a permit. The only conditions to this are as follows: maximum one fishing rod, with a simple hook without barbs with pins or lead and a natural bait (worms, maggots etc.) or fly rod with an artificial insect (feathers). Shoreline fishing only. All generally applicable rules on fishing activities (closed areas, closed seasons) must be observed.

Fishing permits can be obtained from the Glarus Hunting and Fishing Department and from 14 April at the Hotel Rhodannenberg.
